The dean of the Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education announces an open competition for the following academic position:



Place of work:  English Department, Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education, Technical University of Liberec

Number of positions:  1

Workload:    100 % (40 hours/week)

Salary:   payment category A4

  • in accordance with the university’s internal salary regulations and the academic title(s) and degrees held at the time of application
  • personal premium (dependent on regular assessment of work performance)

Employment contract:           fixed-term, until August 31, 2026, with possible extensions

Start of employment:             September 2023 (negotiable)

What will your job entail?

  • guaranteeing the teaching standards and academic content of core subjects in the field of English linguistics
  • holding lectures and teaching seminars in English linguistics
  • being in charge of research teams and projects
  • regular publications in your field of study
  • continuous self-education

We require:

  • university education (including a doctoral degree at ISCED 8 level, e.g. Ph.D., CSc., Dr.phil.)
  • habilitation in a relevant field of linguistics or ELT methodology (higher doctorates such as DSc. or DLitt. are not accepted)
  • expertise in English linguistics, the English language, English philology, general linguistics, or a similar linguistic discipline
  • work experience in the field
  • publications on English linguistics or a closely related field
  • interest in teaching, teaching skills
  • creativity and an ability to work in teams
  • independence, flexibility and reliability

Information about the selection process:

In the first round of selection, candidates are ranked on the basis of their application packages submitted in writing.
