The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications November 30, 2025

Participation in research and publishing activities in the above-mentioned areas of expertise within the focus of the entire Department of Social Work. Active participation in domestic and international conferences and other activities, cooperation in the organization of international workshops, scientific conferences, professional discussions and other activities, including student participation. Participation in the preparation and implementation of grant projects aimed at developing international cooperation. Teaching in the above-mentioned areas and other relevant disciplines. Supervision and review of theses. Participation in other activities of the department, including the development of accredited study programs. Pay grade: AP3 CZK 46,000 per month or AP4 CZK 55,000 per month

If the career development plan is required, it must aim to commence the habilitation procedure (procedure for the granting of associate professorship) no later than nine years after the expected beginning of employment.

Based on the committee’s decision, either all applicants or selected applicants only will be invited to the second round of the competition, i.e. an interview.

Qualifications

  • Associate professor or Professor in social work, social policy, sociology, or other related fields, expertise in theories and methods of social work, supervision, counselling. Previous teaching, research, and other creative activities in the required field. Experience and practice in research or applied projects and grants. The candidate should be able to teach and publish research results either in Czech or Slovak, and in English, or in English only.
