Academic position at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

Research area: forest establishment, horticulture and tree breeding

The Department of Silviculture has long been engaged in research and education in the field of forest regeneration, establishment, and cultivation of forest stands, with an emphasis on ecologically and economically sustainable management. It collaborates with a number of domestic and foreign institutions and actively participates in addressing current challenges in forestry, including the impacts of climate change and adaptation measures in forest ecosystems.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • preparation and conducting of lectures, exercises, and excursions under the guidance of the guarantor
  • focusing on forest establishment, horticulture, and breeding of woody plants
  • conducting lectures and exercises in both Czech and English
  • consultation, supervision, and review of seminar and bachelor’s student theses
  • developing educational and scientific-research activities in the field through independently conducted work in data collection and processing
  • presenting the results of scientific-research activities through publications in professional journals

What do we expect from you?

  • completed master’s degree in forestry, horticulture, or arboriculture
  • excellent knowledge of Czech and English
  • experience in supervising student final theses at least in the role of a consultant
  • active knowledge of MS Office products
  • publication activity

Duration of employment: fixed-term for two years
