Department of Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Science MU is a modern, fully equipped department where individual research groups conduct research at all levels – from molecules and cells through invertebrates up to humans, and from basic research to the application of results in human and veterinary biomedicine.
Job Description
Key Duties:
- Conducting research activities in the field of microfluidics and enzyme kinetics, in particular the design and optimization of experimental systems, the processing and interpretation of acquired data, and publication and project activities in this area
- Teaching activities in higher education study programmes, including teaching specialized courses and supervising students’ final theses
- Participation in the preparation, innovation, and accreditation of study programmes with a biological focus, including the development of curricula and the development of cooperation with national and international partners
Skills and Qualifications
The applicant must have:
- Completed university education in biology, biochemistry, or another related field
- Academic degree Ph.D. or equivalent
- Research experience focused on enzymology and microfluidics
- Experience with the development of microfluidic systems and their application within biologically oriented projects
- Experience with advanced methods for studying enzyme kinetics and biophysical analysis of proteins
- Scientific and publication record in the field
- Very good command of English (spoken and written) at a minimum level of B2
- Excellent knowledge of the Czech language, both written and spoken, at C2 level; in the case of non-native speakers, it must be evidenced by a certificate or a high school graduation certificate in Czech language
- Moral integrity and clean criminal record
The applicant should have:
- Experience with university-level teaching and prerequisites for guaranteeing specialized courses
- Presentation skills and experience with oral presentations at international conferences
- Experience with programming and advanced data analysis
