In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Charles University announces a competitive hiring process with a deadline for applications June 30, 2026

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teaching in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study programmes in the field of demography
  • Supervision and consultation of student these
  • Independent research and publication activities
  • Participation in grant-funded and other research projects of the department
  • Contribution to the development of the department’s research and international activities

The interview may be conducted by means of information and communication technology if justified, at the request of the candidate. Qualifications

Requirements: Completed university education in a relevant field, concluded by obtaining a Ph.D. degree Demonstrated expertise in the fields of demographic analysis and historical demography Experience in the application of quantitative methods in demographic research; Advanced proficiency in SAS Relevant publication record in the field, documented by publications in peer-reviewed national and international academic journals and/or scholarly monographs Qualifications and aptitude for teaching and research activities Active command of English Excellent command of the Czech language Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
