The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications March 20, 2026
- Teaching specialized courses in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree programmes, with a focus on logic
- Conducting independent scholarly research
- Publication activity in the relevant field
- Other teaching, academic, and administrative duties associated with the position of Assistant Professor (AP2) in accordance with the current Career Regulations of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University
- The Faculty of Arts offers a gross monthly salary of CZK 19,500, with the possibility of an additional CZK 7,500 depending on eligibility for participation in grants and research projects.
- The extension of the employment contract will be contingent upon the results of the Academic Staff Evaluation.
- The probationary period is three months.

If the career development plan is required, it must aim to commence the habilitation procedure (procedure for the granting of associate professorship) no later than nine years after the expected beginning of employment.
Based on the committee’s decision, either all applicants or selected applicants only will be invited to the second round of the competition, i.e. an interview.

Qualifications
Completed doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Logic or Philosophy Research specialization in non-classical logics, philosophy of mathematics, and philosophical logic Demonstrated publication record relevant to the field Publications indexed in Web of Science / Scopus and corresponding citation impact are an advantage Grant experience (e.g. as principal investigator of GAČR grants or comparable funding schemes) is an advantage Ability to teach in the Czech language Proficiency in English sufficient for lecturing and scholarly publication
