Research Area: molecular biology of plants

The Department of Molecular Biology and Radiobiology focuses primarily on studying the molecular basis of interaction between plants and their environment. We examine interactions with both abiotic and biotic factors and utilize a wide range of « omic » approaches. In these fields, we have long-standing national and international excellence, which can be documented from the perspective of both the projects undertaken and, primarily, the scientific publications produced.

What will be your job responsibilities?

  • ensuring and developing the teaching of molecular biology subjects, particularly in the field of molecular biology and plant biotechnology
  • collaborating on lectures in both Czech and English
  • supervising, consulting, and reviewing students’ final theses
  • developing educational, scientific-research, and creative activities in the given area
  • publishing results in professional and scientific journals and presenting at conferences and seminars

What do we expect from you?

  • master’s degree in molecular biology or a related field, completed or ongoing Ph.D. studies
  • proficiency in Czech at a native speaker level and English at a C2 level
  • experience in teaching in both Czech and English
  • experience in supervising students’ final theses at least in a consulting capacity
  • publication activity in the relevant scientific field evidenced by at least 1 publication in D1 journals and at least three publications (D1/Q1) as the first or corresponding author, with an h-index of at least 6

What research experiences do we require?

  • education and experience in the molecular biology of plants, knowledge in the area of omics analyses, and plant signaling pathways
  • experience in supervising final theses at least at the level of secondary professional activity

Duration of employment: fixed term until 30.11.2027

Workload: 0.1 (4 hours per week)
