Academic Position at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Horticulture
The Department of Landscape Architecture represents an established creative and research workplace with a comprehensive professional range. In its activities, the department consistently connects theoretical research with creative practice, emphasizing a balance between ecological sustainability, aesthetic value, and the quality of public space. This approach is applied across the entire field, from the preservation of historical heritage to designing a healthy and aesthetically valuable environment for contemporary society. The identity of the department is defined by an emphasis on studio teaching, international collaboration, and addressing real tasks in a multidisciplinary context. Key priorities include current civilizational challenges, particularly the adaptation of settlements to climate change, the application of blue-green infrastructure, the development of public space systems, and the sustainable development of the urbanized landscape.

What will be your responsibilities?
- Conducting lectures, exercises, and seminars focused on buildings and structures in landscape architecture
- Supervising and evaluating student theses
- Involvement in solving scientific research tasks of the workplace
- Presenting the results of your scientific research to the professional community through expert publications
- Active participation in conferences and seminars
- Engagement in other activities of the workplace (exhibitions, etc.)
What do we expect from you?
- A completed master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
- Interest and ability to impart knowledge, experiences, and skills to students, to lecture, and to lead seminars/exercises
- Excellent command of the Czech language, ability to teach in Czech
- Independence and responsibility, ability to collaborate in a team, excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work with programs commonly used by landscape architects (e.g., AutoCAD (CAD), GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS), and 3D modeling)
- Publication activity
- Interest in participating in the preparation of grant applications (TAČR, GAČR, international), being a member/leading a research team
What will we appreciate additionally?
- Commenced or completed doctoral education
- Authorization certificate from ČKA/ČKAIT
- Portfolio of professional publications registered in RIV and/or creative outputs registered in RUV
- Documented experience from professional practice
- Documented experience with the preparation, submission, and management of grant projects
- Experience from foreign professional internships and residencies lasting more than 1 month
- Excellent command of the English language
