Academic position at the Department of Wood Science and Technology, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

Research area: production and properties of composite materials

The department has long been engaged in the study of wood properties, wood-based materials, wood processing technologies, and the construction of wooden buildings in its academic and research activities. Its work encompasses all areas related to the processing and use of wood, from traditional crafts to Industry 4.0. In developing new materials, processes, and technologies, we draw on the results of cutting-edge science but are not afraid to learn from history. We address fundamental projects in collaboration with foreign institutions and Czech and multinational companies, primarily thanks to projects such as TAČR, GAČR, Interreg Europe, Horizon Europe, and NAKI.

What will your duties be?

  • conducting seminars and selected lectures for courses dealing with composite materials
  • collaborating on lectures in Czech and English
  • actively participating in research projects and grants (both application and execution)
  • publishing results in professional and scientific journals and presenting at conferences and seminars
  • taking an active approach to further education and development of professional competencies

What do we expect from you?

  • master’s degree in Wood Engineering, Wood Processing Technology and Management, or a related field
  • ability to teach and engage in publication activities in both Czech and English
  • knowledge of composite material production
  • testing of composite materials and subsequent statistical processing of measured data
  • active participation in scientific projects
  • publication activities

What research experience do we require?

  • at least 3 years of research experience in the field of composite materials
  • at least 3 publication outputs in journals with impact factors

What additional skills would be appreciated?

  • experience from foreign internships
  • active participation in conferences

Expected start date: April 2026

Contract duration: for a definite period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension to an indefinite period
