Academic Staff Member – Assistant/Assistant Professor for the Department of Business Economics

Research field: Business Economics and Corporate Finance

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

The Department of Business Economics is one of the departments of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University in Brno. It focuses on teaching and research in the areas of business process management, corporate finance, agricultural economics, environmental economics and policy, and bioeconomics. The department has long been dedicated to the development of students’ professional competences, supports applied research and links academic knowledge with the needs of corporate practice.

What will be your job role?

  • conducting lectures and exercises in the fields of business economics (Business Economics 1 and 2, Financial Planning and Budgeting)
  • cooperation on lectures in Czech and English
  • supervising, consulting and opposing student theses
  • developing educational, scientific research and creative activities in the field
  • active participation in research projects and grants
  • publishing in the form of bibliometric and non-bibliometric results in the field of landscape ecology and environmental protection

What are our requirements?

  • master’s degree in business economics, etc., ongoing doctoral studies an advantage (completed doctoral studies required for the position of assistant professor)
  • excellent knowledge of Czech language at C1 level and English language at B2 level
  • experience in supervising student theses at least as a consultant
  • publication activity
  • active participation in scientific projects
  • willingness to work on your further personal development and qualification growth

Required research experience:

  • demonstrable research activities in business economics or related fields
  • experience of participation in domestic and international research projects
