We’re looking for a candidate to fill a scientific and pedagogical role at the Institute of Physics, Charles University. Responsibilities include grant-funded research and around 4 hours of teaching per week.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in the relevant area. At least 10 years of experience with biophysical, optical, spectroscopic and microscopic characterization techniques of biological systems including living cell samples. Hands-on experience with cell cultivation and preparation of in vivo and in vitro biological samples. Experience with the research of transport processes in yeast is an advantage. A track record of research stays outside the country of the applicant’s origin. Regular publication in impacted journals. Positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to integrate research and teaching activities. Ability to supervise student theses and student projects is expected. Track record of these activities is required. Proficiency in teaching in both Czech and English. We expect capability of independent and team work, activity in preparation of grant proposals and regular publication in impacted journals.
