Academic staff – Assistant in the field of Plant Medicine with a focus on Entomology

Research field: Plant protection with a focus on entomology

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

The department is responsible for teaching professional subjects related to agricultural plant protection. In the field of scientific research and development, the department focuses on the problems of pathogens and pests of agricultural and horticultural crops, including the possibility of using substances of natural origin for plant protection. In the long term, it is involved in the search for a solution to pest resistance to active ingredients in insecticides.

What will you do?

  • management of student theses
  • teaching in disciplinary subjects
  • participation in the preparation of project proposals
  • active cooperation in the national and international scientific research projects
  • carrying out and evaluating biological experiments
  • publishing the results of scientific research

What are our requirements?

  • at least a Master’s degree in Phytomedicine or a related field, or a PhD in Phytomedicine or a related field
  • excellent Czech language skills, ability to teach and publish in English
  • teaching experience
  • experience with preparing research projects or contract research projects and their implementation
  • field and lab testing expertise
  • experience in publishing
