Academic Position at the Department of Plant Cultivation, Plant Breeding and Plant Protection, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research Area: cultivation, plant breeding, and plant protection

The Department of Plant Cultivation, Plant Breeding and Plant Protection was established in 1919. Since 2005, after merging with the Department of Plant Protection, it has been named the Department of Cultivation, Plant Breeding and Plant Protection. It carries out educational, scientific, and advisory activities in these and related fields. It guarantees the follow-up master’s degree programs in Phytotechnics and Plant Protection, as well as the doctoral study program in Special Plant Production. It addresses prestigious research projects (Research Center, Competence Center) and contractual orders, and also participates in promoting studies and activities of the faculty.

What will your job role?

  • managing the workplace in personnel and financial matters
  • coordinating pedagogy, science, and research conducted at the department
  • teaching and research activities in the field of cultivation, plant breeding, and plant protection

What do we expect from you?

  • university degree at the Ph.D. level in the field of cultivation, plant breeding, and plant protection or a related field; associate professor or professor title is an advantage
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language at the C2 level, knowledge of English and another foreign language is an advantage
  • organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • ability to navigate labor law regulations and economic rules of higher education institutions
  • personal and professional prerequisites for teaching activities
  • research and publication activity in one of the mentioned fields; cultivation, plant breeding, and plant protection or a related field, experience in publishing in journals with impact factors
  • willingness to work on further personal development and qualification growth
  • clean criminal record
