Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions

for the project The Biomedical Indicators for Personalized Medicine project (BIPOLE),
Project ID.: CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0008439,

within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Commenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

to fill 3 research positions:

FaF_VZ1/WP2_11: Researcher (junior), 0.25 FTE (25 %),

FaF_VZ1/WP2_13: Researcher (junior), 0.25 FTE (25 %),

FaF_VZ1/WP2_14: Researcher (junior), 0.25 FTE (25 %),

Place of work: Hradec Králové

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in both the conceptual and experimental implementation of research tasks within VZ1 (WP2) focused on biomarkers of health and disease in perinatology,
  • design and implementation of selected experimental approaches in accordance with the project’s research plan,
  • establishment and optimization of in vitro methods for testing biologically active compounds,
  • design, optimization, and execution of experiments employing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models (cell cultures, tissue preparations, animal models),
  • processing and statistical analysis of experimental data (parametric and non-parametric statistical tests),
  • interpretation of results with regard to their biological and translational significance,
  • active participation in the preparation of scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals,
  • collaboration in the preparation of project deliverables and professional documentation,
  • participation in key project activities with an emphasis on the application potential of the obtained results.

Profile:

  • Completed Master’s degree in a biomedical field, particularly pharmacy, general medicine, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, experimental biology, or a related life science discipline with a focus on biomedicine,
  • admission to a doctoral (Ph.D.) program or ongoing Ph.D. studies in pharmacology, toxicology, reproductive biology, molecular medicine, or a related field,
  • demonstrated experience in experimental laboratory research (experience with cell culture techniques is an advantage),
  • ability to conduct independent experimental work and to approach research tasks in a systematic and methodical manner,
  • experience with data analysis and basic statistical interpretation,
  • active command of English, including the ability to prepare scientific manuscripts,
  • previous publication activity in pharmacology, toxicology, reproductive biology, molecular medicine, or a related field, or involvement in manuscript preparation, is considered an advantage.

Other knowledge and skills:

  • Aptitude and motivation for scientific research,
  • flexibility, precision, and a strong sense of responsibility,
  • organizational and communication skills,
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a research team,
  • high level of work commitment,
  • willingness to pursue further professional development and continuous learning.

Estimated monthly salary (full-time equivalent, 1.0 FTE): CZK 55,000

Employment level: 0.25 FTE (part-time)

Start date: Negotiable (anticipated from 1 March 2026)

Type of employment contract: One-year fixed-term contract, with the expectation of extension until 30 June 2028
