In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Charles University announces a competitive hiring process with a deadline for applications November 08, 2025
The position is funded by the OP JAK project Society in Motion: Opportunities and Risks of New Forms of Mobility for Czech Society and the Economy, No. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008717. Financial resources are available for the duration of the grant, i.e., from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028. The gross monthly salary, payable 12 times per year, is approximately CZK 61,000.

In justified cases, e.g., if the applicant completes his doctoral studies in the period between the submission of the application and the date of starting the employment relationship, the applicant must provide proof of the completed doctoral studies before signing the employment contract.
Candidates who progress to the second round of the selection procedure will be invited for an interview. The interview may be conducted by means of information and communication technology if justified, at the request of the candidate. The Committee may invite selected candidates to give a lecture to the academic community of the Faculty.

Qualifications
- Requirements: PhD in economic geography or a related field (e.g., sociology). Excellent ability to conduct qualitative research in Czech language, especially through interviews with a wide range of actors (companies, universities, intermediary organizations, etc.), including experience with software for qualitative research. Experience in carrying out internationally competitive research. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Preferred: Good knowledge of multivariate statistical methods. Advanced knowledge of data mining and other alternative data sources.

- Research on the impacts of global changes (climate, geopolitical tensions, and AI) on the Czech economy.
