Přehled

In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Charles University announces a competitive hiring process with a deadline for applications March 05, 2026

A fully funded postdoctoral position in Chemistry will be available at the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Charles University starting at the earliest from December 2026. The group of Chemical Biology and Biocatalysis is looking for a highly motivated fellow that is interested in research at the interface of chemistry and biology. The project aims to develop a high-throughput “Catch and Release” strategy to identify covalent small-molecule ligands directly in complex biological systems, overcoming the low throughput of current proteomics-based approaches. This method will enable the rapid, unbiased discovery and validation of covalent ligands and their protein targets in native biological environments, accelerating chemical probe and lead identification.

Application Instructions

Application, which you can download here https://natur.cuni.cz/en/faculty/official-board/selection-procedures, with cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, diplomas, research and teaching statement, must be send within 30 days from the announcement of the tender to the e-mail address: volnamista@natur.cuni.cz with subject “Výběrové řízení.”

The successful applicant will have a PhD degree in Chemistry and will have an experience with synthesis and characterization of small molecules. Experience with chemical biology (affinity selection, click chemistry, cell lysates) is an advantage but not required. The applicant is expected to be fluent in English. The salary is highly adequate to cover all living costs in Prague (EUR 3400/month). Applications including cover letter, CV and names of two references should be sent to Dr. Misek at misek@natur.cuni.cz.
