Non-academic position at the Department of Wood Science and Wood Technology, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology
Research area: Wood-based composites
The departmetn has long been engaged in researching the properties of wood, wood-based materials, wood processing technologies, and the construction of wooden buildings. Its activities touch upon all areas related to the processing and utilization of wood, from traditional crafts to Industry 4.0. In developing new materials, methods, and technologies, we draw upon cutting-edge scientific results, but we are not afraid to learn from history. We tackle major projects in collaboration with foreign institutions and Czech and multinational companies, primarily through projects TAČR, GAČR, Interreg Europe, Horizon Europe, and NAKI.
What will your job responsibilities be?
- Development and testing of biocomposite mixture recipes
- Analysis and testing of various types of wood particles, vermiculite, and other additives for biocomposite mixtures
- Analyzing the influence of different component ratios on the resulting physical, mechanical, and insulating properties of boards
- Studying interactions between individual components of the mixture
- Preparing scientific publications, reports, and presentations related to the research
- Active participation in professional conferences, seminars, and promoting research results
- Providing administrative and technical support for research projects
What do we expect from you?
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Wood Engineering, Wood Processing Technology and Management, or a related field
- Excellent command of the Czech language, ability to publish in English
- Experience working in a laboratory, including sample processing, data analysis, and working with laboratory equipment
- Basic knowledge of composite material production
- Basic knowledge of testing composite materials and subsequent statistical processing of measured data
- Experience from foreign internships and active participation in conferences
- Commitment to solving research projects, experience with grant funding
