Non-academic position at the Department of Environmental Science and Natural Resources, Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies

Research area: Forestry and forestry entomology (applied) research

You will become a member of an experienced scientific team that has been dedicated to forestry and entomological research for a long time. The team consists of experts with extensive practice who will provide you with professional support, sharing of know-how, and space for further professional development. Together, you will participate in field research across the Czech Republic.

What will your job responsibilities be?

  • Fieldwork in forest stands across the Czech Republic
  • Sampling from pheromone traps
  • Independent collection, recording, and analysis of entomological material
  • Navigation in the field using forestry maps
  • Communication with forestry personnel in the field
  • Active involvement in expert forestry and entomological research
  • Collaboration with an experienced scientific team, utilizing its methodologies and professional support
  • Preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations related to the research project
  • Participation in professional conferences, seminars, and popularization of research results
  • Independent trips to the field (driving a vehicle)

What do we expect from you?

  • University education in forestry, natural sciences, or biology (master’s degree)
  • Willingness to work in the field and independence while navigating forest stands across the Czech Republic
  • Good orientation in forestry maps and ability to work with field data
  • Ability to independently collect entomological material in the field, subsequently process it, and analyze data
  • Communication skills in the Czech language, ability to collaborate with forestry personnel
  • Publishing activity, ability to write scientific articles
  • Driving license group B – active driver
