The Department of Medical Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of
South Bohemia in České Budějovice, is opening an academic position for
researchers who wish to develop their own research direction, supervise
students and be part of an open, international academic environment.

The position is suitable both for Czech researchers returning from abroad and
for international candidates seeking a long-term, stable yet flexible academic
career. For us, it is not just about publications and grants, but also about
education, collaboration and long-term professional development.

What you will be doing:

– Hold a full-time academic position in a dynamically developing
department with growing student interest
–  Build and lead your own research group, including the possibility of
receiving start-up funding
–  Conduct research in high-quality laboratory facilities enabling
immunological, microbiological and biochemical experiments (BioSafety
Level II, work with laboratory animals) and actively engage in
interdisciplinary collaboration
–  Work in the attractive location of České Budějovice, which offers a high
quality of life

We require:

– A higher education degree in the natural or medical sciences
– Completed doctoral studies (PhD) in molecular biology, genetics,
biomedical sciences (e.g. immunology, microbiology) or related fields
– At least 2 years of professional experience following the Ph.D. award
– Significant international research experience lasting at least 1 year
– Ability to independently initiate, develop and lead one’s own research
programme in the field of biomedical research (e.g. immunology,
metabolism, infectious biology, cancer biology, etc.)
– Active involvement in grant competitions and the preparation of
research projects
– Supervision of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral theses for
students at FSC USB
–  Involvement in teaching in Czech and/or English
–  Ability to work in an international academic environment
