Academic Position at the Department of Agrosystems and Bioclimatology, Faculty of AgriSciences

Research Area: Issues of Weeds and Their Regulation

The Department of Agrosystems and Bioclimatology focuses on research and education in various agricultural management systems – integrated, precision, and ecological. The department conducts comprehensive long-term field experiments on its experimental plots, addressing agrotechnical measures such as soil cultivation, establishment and maintenance of crops, crop rotation, cover crops, and weed control. Numerous experiments focus on researching the impacts and adaptation measures related to climate change and the increasing occurrence of meteorological extremes.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Conducting lectures, exercises, and excursions in the fields of Professional Agriculture, Phytotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, and Plant Health
  • Collaboration on lectures in both Czech and English
  • Supervision, consultation, and opposition of students’ final theses
  • Development of educational, scientific research, and creative activities in the relevant area
  • Active participation in research projects and grants
  • Publishing results in professional and scientific journals and presenting at conferences and seminars

What do we expect from you?

  • University degree at the Ph.D. level focused on agriculture
  • Excellent knowledge of the Czech language, knowledge of English at the B1 – B2 level
  • Experience in teaching in both Czech and English
  • Experience in supervising students’ final theses at least in the role of a consultant
  • Development of educational, scientific research, and creative activities in the relevant area
  • Active participation in solving research projects and grants
  • Publishing results of scientific research in professional journals and at conferences and seminars

What research experience do we require?

  • Experience with publication and research activities in the field, including publications in journals with impact factors, project management, and data analysis
  • Pedagogical activities, instruction, and supervision of practical exercises as well as student projects
  • Linking theory with practice, conducting field trials, and collaborating with the commercial sector
  • Communication and organizational skills in securing professional events (seminars, workshops, field days)
